Plesk 12 Web Admin Edition: Cannot create extra domain

StéphanS

Regular Pleskian
The license says that it provides 10 domains on the License Management page.
However, when I try to add a new domain, I get:

Code:
Warning: Permission denied.

When trying to add a domain from the command line, I get a warning that I can't add a new subscription (which is probably the way Web Admin works, 1 Subscription, 10 domains):

Code:
# plesk bin domain --create test.be
An error occurred during domain creation: You cannot manage subscriptions due to license restrictions.

How can I use all 10 domains?

Hi IgorG,

I understand, but then how can I use all 10 domains provided in the license?

I'd like to add a new domain in the existing subscription, but it just gives me a Permission Denied.
I believe this is a bug in the logic.

I can't reproduce your issue in UI. Please describe your steps for reproduce. Login to panel > Websites & Domains > click "Add New Domain" button? Also output of "plesk version" command is needed.

To create addon site via CLI:
Code:
# plesk bin site --create site.dom -webspace-name main-domain.dom

Hi Stephan,

I can reproduce this behaviour.
Were you able to resolve it?

Something else I found is that all the settings for PHP etc. are missing.
PHP is actually not even enabled by default for the first domain.

In the license I see that modsecurity and fail2ban is enabled but I don't even have a chance to manage them anywhere?

Regards,
Kristian

Hi,

just to show you this in pictures:

1.) This is what we see when wanting to add a Domain:

2.) Where am I supposed to change any Webserver and PHP Settings? How about enabling PHP?

3.) This is what plesk sets up as default when logging into plesk the first time:
Code:
# /usr/local/psa/bin/domain -i atom-server.de

Why is just about every feature disabled? PHP/SSL/SSI/CGI/Perl? Where am i supposed to enable these in Plesk?
I don't mean the CLI, as our customers would expect for this to be able in the UI?
Bug?

Thanks

Hey Kristian,

Sadly, I was able to resolve it, by upgrading the license to Web Pro Edition.

Hey Stephan,

ok, but that is not the solution!
Having 10 Domains included, should give the option to actually use 10 Domains.

I've forwarded this to you know who :)

I'll keep you posted, if you like :)

Kristian

Hi everyone,

just for all the others that might be facing this issue. It can be resolved by executing the following command on the Shell
Code:
# /usr/local/psa/bin/poweruser --on -simple false -lock false

After executing this command, you can create Domains and all Options are back to actually manage services and options via Plesk.

Hope it helps

Kristian

Thanks for this KristianM, this has been very helpful. had been trying to figure this out all day.

Ideally this should notify you when you add the licence key so you can make the changes that are required before it's locked down to simple view.

Hi,

the actuall issue is within the License or better in the License Product Configuration.
In the new Parallels Partner Central where you buy new Licenses, you can specify a Product Configuration for your Plesk Licenses.
If you have setup this Product Configration for it to by default have "Service Provider View", then it locks down to simple view upon installing a Web Admin Edt. License to Plesk.

You can just unconfigure the Default View in Parallels Partner Central and it should work out of the box again.
Paralles is aware of this issue and they are looking into it.

I found this issue and resolved it faster than Paralles Support could :)

Hope it helps

Kristian

Hey Kristian, and any one else I need help

I am having the same issue as the above how would I resolve it? I currently getting the subscription via OVH , I cannot for the life of me transfer my co.za domains to my VPS using the PLESK Interface (Manage Domains) in the bottom corner box. When I click on it goes to a page called : https://ovh.parallelsmarketplace.com/store/i
I cannot select transfer domains as the TOP LEVEL Domain names does not include co.za, I cannot log in on the top as I do not know my login details for it or it has not being given to me?

So how would I resolve this?

In addition the add other domains please tell me step by step what to do

Thanks

Hi MohammedJ,

your issue has nothing to do with Plesk.
You are on the Parallels Marketplace. The only ones who can help you is the support of OVH.
Normally you should be transfering your Domain to OVH anyway and then pointing it to your Plesk
Server IP via the OVH Manager. This has nothing to do with Plesk.

Kristian

Hi Kristian, yes I figured that part out, and i kind of know what to do with that,

but my 2nd issue im having which is the same as Stephen, and you told him what to do, where can I make this change to allow it?

Thanks

Just an update, I upgraded my license from web admin to web pro, and this I did it directly with PLESK and not OVH, but I still cannot access anything to do with new WEBSPACES or SUBSCRIPTIONS, how do I access it? When I click on new webspace it says permission denied!!

You lot are lucky, the Add New Domain button is missing in my Web App Edition of Plesk 12, and no suggestions here have helped.

PLUS one of the two domains subscriptions on the server has expired, even though Web App Edition doesn't have subscriptions, and there was no option to extend it.

I have a customer who now can't add domains, or stop domains from expiring, and to get any support from Parallels I have to pay for it? Surely I pay a licence fee for that?

This is poor at best Parallels. I've been with you guys for the last 10 years, and I'm really disappointed!

You may have free support, please check what kind of Plesk license you use for available support options at http://kb.odin.com/en/121580 .
If there’s no free support in your case, you can order Plesk per-incident support at http://odin.com/hcap/support/buy-support/. Support team will contact you as soon as purchase is processed, and they will do the best to resolve it.
If it is found that your problem was caused by product bug w/o available solution or workaround from Parallels, then your purchase will be re-funded.

Thank you for your report. Bug with internal id PPP-14533 has been created.

You can try to fix the database manually (type the following commands in console, replace <your-domain.dom> with real name):
plesk db "update Limits set value='-1' where limit_name='expiration'"
plesk db "update Limits set value='-1' where limit_name='expiration_soft'"
plesk bin subscription --webspace-on <your-domain.dom>

Thank you Kristian, I've been trying to fix an issue now for 2 days...
This 1 line still helped me in 2024.
